Scholarship Details

The University of Bridgeport would like to remind you of the academic scholarships offered to international undergraduate students. Academic scholarships are available to qualified students in the following amounts:


University of Bridgeport

Scholarship Amount per Year:

  • Trustee Scholarship – $15,000
  • Presidential Scholarship – $13,000
  • Academic Scholarship – $11,000
  • Challenge Grant – $10,000
  • Music Scholarship – Amount Varies
  • Athletic Scholarship – Amount Varies (Applicant must present SAT score)
  • Design Scholarship – Amount Varies (Applicant must present portfolio)

2. Saïd Foundation Scholarship

Description: The Foundation has been supporting students from the Middle East since 1984. Over the years more than 500 young people have benefited from our scholarships including archaeologists, environmentalists, geneticists, linguists, musicians, nurses, water engineers and university professors. All the Foundation asks of its scholars is that they apply their new skills and knowledge in one of our target countries on completion of their course.

Value: The Saïd Foundation is able to provide full or partial scholarships for masters’ degrees at universities around the UK depending on the level of financial need or whether other grants are available to applicants. While we are able to provide full funding, we are also happy to provide matching funds. In addition, the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office (the FCO) and the Saïd Foundation jointly fund up to 10 Saïd Foundation/Chevening awards annually for postgraduate study. The Foundation can also consider distance learning courses and shorter postgraduate courses at accredited UK academic institutions.

Eligibility: To apply for a Saïd Foundation Scholarship you need to:

  • have a good first degree
  • provide evidence of your proficiency in English
  • be under forty years of age
  • be Jordanian, Lebanese, Syrian or Palestinian (including Palestinians inside Israel) and be resident in the Middle East
  • demonstrate that your chosen course of study will be of use to your home country or the Middle East region
  • have at least two years’ work experience
  • sign a binding undertaking to apply the skills and knowledge you have gained in one of the Foundation’s targets countries

The Foundation welcomes applications from disabled people.

3. University Trust International Leadership Scholarship

Description: The University of Glasgow will award 52 University Trust International Leadership scholarships to international (non-EU) students starting a Masters degree programme in September 2011 in the following Colleges:

  • Arts
  • Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences
  • Science and Engineering
  • Social Sciences

Value: The successful applicants will receive a scholarship between the ranges of £5,000 – £10,000 as a tuition fee discount.

Eligibility: Applicants must achieve the international equivalent of a UK first class honours’ degree.

Deadline: 30 April 2011

4. Scholarship University of Reading

International Baccalaureate Scholarship

The deadline for the IB Scholarship is fast approaching. The closing date for applications is Friday 6th May 2011

University of Reading

To apply for this Scholarship the student needs to be nominated by the school/college (at which they are studying for the International Baccalaureate) to the Student Financial Support Office. Nomination letters should outline the student’s academic and extra-curricular achievements.

Who can apply?

International undergraduate students with excellent results in the International Baccalaureate qualification (see the International Baccalaureate Organization website for details)

This Scholarship is available to students of any subject. They must be an international student, not UK or EU.

In order to be considered for this Scholarship, students must hold the offer of a place at the University of Reading.

What is it worth?

This Scholarship provides Tuition Fees at International rate and living costs of £5000 per year. It is available (dependent on eligibility) for up to 3 years.

International Masters Bursaries

This year the University of Reading has announced that there will be three Masters Bursaries available worth £10,000 each for international postgraduate students wishing to study a Masters degree at the University of Reading.

Students must have an offer of a place on a one-year taught a postgraduate course to be able to apply.

5. Newcastle University

Foundation Scholarships: Announcing the creation of 10 scholarships

Newcastle University

Newcastle University and INTO Newcastle University invites applications for the Newcastle University Foundation’s Scholarship. The scholarships have been created to assist international fee-paying students, who need to complete a Foundation program before enrolling on a Newcastle University undergraduate degree program.

The scholarships are available to all international students applying for the following INTO Newcastle University Foundation pathways:

  • Foundation pathway in Business and Management £11,490
  • Foundation pathway in Humanities and Social Sciences £11,490
  • Foundation pathway in Physical Sciences and Engineering £12,990
  • Foundation pathway in Biological and Biomedical Sciences £12,990

The Foundation program commences in September 2011 and January 2012. Successful completion of the appropriate Foundation pathway (subject to meeting specified grades for entry) guarantees students progression onto a wide range of undergraduate degree programs at Newcastle University.

6. University of East Anglia

Science Foundation Scholarships 2011/12

The Faculty of Science at the University of East Anglia and INTO University of East Anglia invites applicants for the Science Foundation Scholarships valued at £11,490 each:

  • INTO Foundation pathway in General Science
  • INTO Foundation pathway in Pharmacy, Biomedicine and Health
  • INTO Foundation pathway in Physical Sciences and Mathematics
  • INTO Foundation pathway in Mathematics and Actuarial Sciences

The INTO Foundation programs commence on 26 September 2011 and 09 January 2012.

Successful completion of the appropriate Foundation program (subject to meeting specified grades for entry) guarantees students progression on a wide range of undergraduate degree courses within the Faculty of Science at the University of East Anglia from September 2012.

Arts and Humanities


The Faculty of Art and Humanities at the University of East Anglia and INTO University of East Anglia invites applications for the Arts and Humanities Foundation Scholarships valued at £11,490.

Three Art and Humanities Foundation Scholarships are available to international fee-paying students applying to the INTO University of East Anglia Foundation pathway in Business and Economics with Society and Culture and Foundation pathway in Humanities and Law leading to a selected undergraduate course at the University of East Anglia in the following:

NEWTON PROGRAM SCHOLARSHIPS 2011/12

Announcing scholarships of up to 50% off tuition fees!

INTO University of East Anglia invites applications for Newton Program scholarships are for the September 2011 and January 2012 intakes. The best-qualified applicants will be eligible for scholarships of up to 50% off the cost of the full Tuition Fee.

In order to apply for one of these scholarships, applicants must have either:

  • Completed a Newton Program Application form and received a Letter of Offer for the Newton Program from INTO University of East Anglia
