Question & Answer: Preparation for IAS exams
My daughter is currently studying at class VII ICSE. Her ambition is to become an IAS officer. She is excellent in her studies. What kind of extra studies, coaching or where she may concentrate. Your kind advice is highly appreciable.
Thanks and regards
IAS (Indian Administrative Services) examinations are a part of the Civil Service Examinations in India and are highly competitive. The IAS exam has two parts to it Part 1 comprises of General Studies, General Knowledge and a subject of the candidates choice. Part 2 assess’ the intellectual and traits of the candidates followed by an interview. Only Indian nationals above the age of 21 and under 30 years can apply for the IAS. Candidates need to have graduated or be in their final year of graduation. There are specialized schools that coach students for these exams.
Having said that I feel there is no hurry and I would let her enjoy her years in school and college. Should her interest be unabated she could then start preparing for it.
