Health care administration or Health administration is the field describes the leadership, management, and administration of public health systems, health care systems, hospitals, and hospital networks.

Health care administrators are also considered health care professionals. They are the ones who generally take care of the general management of hospitals, hospital networks, and/or health care systems. The term refers to management at all levels.

This is usually studied through healthcare administration or healthcare management programs in a business school or, in some institutions. Many colleges and universities are offering a bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration or human resources; a master’s degree is considered the “standard credential” for most health administrators in various countries.

If you look at acquiring a degree in Healthcare Administration or Management, here is what you’ll need:

Admission Requirements (USA):

• Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 3.00 GPA.
• GRE/GMAT test (Minimum of 300/340 in GRE & 600/800 in GMAT).
• IELTS of 6.5 bands.

Western Kentucky University, Virginia Common Wealth University, Arizona State University, University of California Los Angeles are a few universities in the US that offers the course.

In the UK, Healthcare Management is a Postgraduate degree and the usual duration is just a year approximately.

Admission Requirements (UK):

• A first (Bachelor’s) degree, with Honours
• Some relevant work experience would be an advantage.
• IELTS minimum overall: 6.5
• IELTS minimum by component: 6.0
