ALBERT COLLEGE

Albert College is a co-educationalindependentboarding school in Belleville, Ontario. It is the oldest co-ed boarding school in Canada. It currently has an enrollment of approximately 300 students representing 25 different countries. The school comprises a Junior School (pre-kindergarten to grade 6), a Middle School (grades 7 and 8) and a Senior School (grades 9 to 12 and post-graduate) as well as three residences for boarding students.

Boarding students are divided into three houses which are Baker House, for boys in Grade 7 to 10, Graham Hall, for boys in Grade 11 and 12 and Victoria Manor, for all boarding girls. Albert College is also a day school meaning that local students, who come mainly from Belleville, as well as the nearby communities of Prince Edward County and Kingston, do not live at the school. They are bussed or driven to school every day and return home every evening. Albert College’s facilities include a chapel, dining hall, a number of art rooms, and a science wing. It is the only independent school in Belleville. Albert College’s motto is “PaciArtibusque, PacisFaveo”, or “I favour peace and the arts of peace” and its mission is “Albert College inspires academic excellence, self-confidence, and sound moral values in a family environment.” Albert College offers a wide range of co-curricular programmes, specialized arts programmes, advanced placement courses and an English Foundation Year for English as a Second Language (ESL) studies. ESL is also offered at Albert College during their annual Summer School programme. Albert College offers a number of varsity and intramural sports from swimming, lacrosse and rugby to basketball, soccer, TaeKwonDo and others.
